This was my senior year Capstone project at Appalachian State University. This semester long project was a completely independent, self driven task. We were instructed to select a specific design topic and take it from there. I decided to create a music therapy center and from there researched a site and used existing building plans to create the entire interior of the center. In order to understand the ins and outs of music therapy, I interviewed a professor at my school, as well as a theater professor so I could understand how to design a functioning center. Along with therapy rooms, I also designed a small theater within the center that could host different events to encourage the community being involved with the center. The concept of my design was based on harmony within nature, music, and people. Our final requirements were to produce design boards along with a set of construction documents including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, sections, and building/interior elevations. I completed the drawings, renderings and design boards using Revit, Photoshop and InDesign. Download my design boards here
